Maryam is an expressive artist and trainer who uses the transforming power of the arts to inspire individuals and groups to discover, explore, and share their gifts. She has used her passion for the arts in working as a therapist, educator, and trainer for over 30 years on both the East and West coasts and abroad. Maryam currently offers trainings and courses in the use of the expressive arts for people working in hospice, healthcare, education, and mental health. The "Transforming the Bullying Cycle thru the Expressive Arts Workshop" was most recently given at the International Expressive Arts Therapy Association Conference at Lesley University in August of 2009 where it was well received. Integrating her new book and CD, "New to the Forests of Selay: Transforming Witnesses into Heroes" into her work is Maryam's latest endeavor. Maryam has a B.A. in Dance and Poetry, an M.A. in Counseling Psychology, and an M.Ed. in Arts and Education and is currently working on her doctoral dissertation on bully prevention through the expressive arts. |
